Mission Trip to Ghana

Mission Trip to Ghana 2025–2026: Akonam Richards’ Gospel Outreach in Upper West & Northern Ghana

Mission work is often measured in miles traveled and sermons preached. But during this December 2025 mission trip to Ghana, one moment of reconciliation in a divided family reminded us why we go — because the Gospel restores what years of bitterness cannot.

This Christian mission trip to Ghana focused on youth ministry, evangelism, reconciliation, and strengthening mission fields across Upper West and Northern Ghana.

It was a journey marked by sacrifice, long travel hours, powerful worship, and visible transformation through the message of Christ.

Strengthening Mission Partnerships in Ghana

Dr. Idoabasi Ikpo has pioneered several mission fields in Ghana over the years. Through continued collaboration, doors have opened for deeper Gospel outreach and discipleship across rural communities.

This December 2025 mission trip reaffirmed the power of Kingdom networking — strengthening missionaries on ground and encouraging local believers.

Youth Convention in Wechau District – Kpanfa Convention Center

One of the major highlights of the outreach was the Youth Convention in Wechau District, led by a team of missionaries from Nigeria under the leadership of Yemi Adenuga.

The convention center was located in Kpanfa, drawing participants from different parts of the district. The hunger for the Word among the youth was evident throughout the sessions.

Director Akonam Richards ministered during the conference, encouraging young believers to remain steadfast in faith and become bold witnesses in their communities.

The atmosphere was filled with expectation as the Word of God was taught with clarity and conviction.

Teaching in Afayeli, Northern Ghana: Using Your Testimony to Share the Gospel

From Wechau, the mission extended to Afayeli in Northern Ghana, where believers gathered for teaching and fellowship.

Here, Director Akonam Richards taught on using personal testimonies as a means of evangelism — encouraging believers to share their faith stories with friends, relatives, colleagues, and neighbors.

The emphasis was simple yet powerful: your story is a tool for Gospel impact.

The message resonated deeply as believers were equipped with practical ways to witness in everyday life.

Worship and Joy in Afayeli

The outreach in Afayeli was marked by heartfelt praise and worship. Songs of thanksgiving filled the air as brethren lifted their voices in unity.

Moments like these remind us that mission work is not only about preaching — it is about building community, strengthening faith, and celebrating God’s goodness together.

The Journey Between Mission Fields

Mission work in rural Ghana requires endurance. The journey from Afayeli to Challa took over four hours by bike, navigating rough terrain and challenging roads.

Other members of the team arrived in their trucks, equally committed to the outreach effort.

These moments capture the unseen sacrifices behind every successful outreach.

Challa Outreach: A Message of Forgiveness and Reconciliation

The theme of the message centered on Forgiveness.

The Host Missionary, David Ikpo and his wife, were initially surprised at the theme presented. However, as the message unfolded under the leading of the Holy Spirit, it became clear that God had a divine purpose.

During the opening message, a question was directed toward a church member whose family had lived in bitterness for years. That moment became a turning point.

By the grace of God, reconciliation was birthed. Joy replaced division. Restoration replaced resentment.

The resident missionary later testified that he believed God specifically brought the team for that family’s restoration.

We give God praise for His faithfulness.

Visiting Three Districts in Upper West and Northern Ghana

During this mission trip, Director Akonam Richards had the privilege of visiting and ministering in three districts across Upper West and Northern Ghana.

Each district presented unique spiritual needs, yet the Gospel message remained consistent: Christ restores, reconciles, and transforms lives.

A Testimony of God’s Faithfulness

This Ghana mission trip (December 2025 – January 2026) stands as a testimony of:

  • The power of forgiveness in healing families
  • The importance of youth ministry in rural communities
  • The effectiveness of testimony-based evangelism
  • The value of missionary networking and partnership
  • The faithfulness of God in remote mission fields

Through collaboration with Dr. Idoabasi Ikpo, Yemi Adenuga, David Ikpo, and the broader missionary team, seeds were planted that will continue to bear fruit for years to come.
